Lifelines

  • After my father died, I found myself in a place where I needed to deal with my grief. I hadn't painted in a while and the only thing I was able to do is put some lines and colors down. I don't know where they came from at first, but over time I had a conversation with them and they helped me to gain some new insight. I call them my lifelines. I continue to make these in addition to my figurative work because it allows me to explore the harmonies of color and composition. Now they want to go off the canvas and continue into others. I enjoyed working on them in all directions and that is also how they are to be enjoyed.
