October 29th, 2022: This was an amazing show to be a part of, celebrating the 100th anniversary of my high school, the Booker T. Washington Highschool for the Performing and Visual Arts! The school holds a very special place in the community, being the first African American Highschool in Dallas which became a magnet school for the Arts. It was my home and a great place to grow as a young artist. I'm so glad to see it flourishing! The Pencil on Paper Gallery is run by artists and educators Emmanuel Gillespie and Dr. Valerie Gillespie and is a beautiful space for showcasing the work of local and emerging artists.
